Hundreds demand higher pay

A wage of $15 per hour was demanded Wednesday in Chicago.

NSN.- Workers like Víctor Guzmán of McDonld’s and Chrade Nabors of Sears storied state street Wednesday for better pay and more opportunities.

They said that the salaries of $9 dollars an hour are not enough to live. Hundreds flocked downtown Chicago to make a public pitch for better pay with the support of labor, faith and community organizations like Workers Organizing Committee of Chicago.

In the past the group has been with other workers to stage protest and push for boost Illinois minimum wage, witch has remained in $8.25 since 2009.

The protests have been gaining steam in the fast food and retail businesses that have generated the most jobs since the recession, but are among the lowest paid.
